Our sense of identity is made up of many parts and ‘being adopted’ is one such part for many people. As parents and carers it’s useful to spend some time thinking about what this might mean for an adopted child and their sense of self; and how best to support children to integrate this fact into an overall positive narrative about who they are.
This ‘hands-on’ workshop will explore what identity is, how it’s formed and what we can do to shape it in positive and life-affirming ways for ourselves and our adopted children. Your stories, questions and reflections are all welcome.
Facilitated by Anna Bianchi, a writer, trainer and facilitator. She is a former social worker who has specialised in working therapeutically with young people for many years.
