Welcome to The Centre for Adoption Support and Education

The Centre, (formerly known as Our Place) has been supporting adoptive families since 1998. As a voluntary, independent and registered adoption support agency for people in the West and surrounding areas, it has been graded outstanding by Ofsted.

We work collaboratively with families to develop and grow our services according to the families’ needs and any gaps in our service. We encourage Centre user feedback and involvement and have a number of adopters and adopted adults who work, or volunteer at The Centre.

Through every aspect of our work, we place the child at the centre of our thinking and practice. Adoption should enable children and young people placed with adoptive families to reach their full potential. We work with children and families from all backgrounds, cultures and all faiths or none to achieve this.

Our aims:

  • Create a Centre of Excellence
  • Provide high quality services to adoptive families that promote family attachment
  • Contribute to research and education in adoption
  • Deliver adoption support services that place children at the centre of our work.
